DUBAI – Dubai Airports has confirmed that a concourse at Dubai International Airport sustained minor damage during an incident that was swiftly brought under control.
Emergency response teams were immediately deployed, coordinating with relevant authorities to secure the site and manage the situation. Four staff members were injured and received prompt medical attention.
According to the Dubai Media Office, most terminals had already been cleared of passengers under pre-established contingency plans. The airport operator said further updates would be provided as more information becomes available.

The swift containment underscored the preparedness measures in place at one of the world’s busiest international hubs. Emergency crews worked to ensure operational safety, while authorities assessed the limited structural impact within the affected concourse area.
The injuries sustained by staff were described as minor, with medical teams responding on site. Passenger safety protocols were activated without delay, reflecting heightened vigilance amid ongoing regional developments.
UAE intercepts Iran missiles, drones
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence detailed the scale of aerial threats intercepted since the onset of the Iranian attack. The air force and air defence units successfully engaged and destroyed 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones launched towards the UAE.
Of the 137 ballistic missiles detected, 132 were intercepted and destroyed, while five fell into the sea. A total of 209 drones were identified; 195 were intercepted and 14 fell within the country’s territory and waters. The ministry said the fallen drones caused limited side damage.

Officials noted that debris from the successful interceptions landed in separate areas across the country, leading to minor material damage at a number of civilian facilities. No significant structural losses were reported.
The ministry strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a serious escalation and a violation of national sovereignty and international law. It reiterated that the UAE reserves the right to respond and to take all necessary measures to safeguard its territory, citizens and residents.
Authorities confirmed that all relevant agencies acted immediately under approved emergency procedures to secure affected locations and ensure public safety. The ministry added that the country remains on high alert and fully prepared to address any further threats.
